For the past year it has been working fine on wireless and out the blue it will no longer receive a signal for my wireless modem. I have tried everythingmessing about with firewall settings, restarting router etc. Stillno joy. Any help would be appreciated.

When you move it to the PS3 without reseting the modem, it sees a different MAC address and won't reassign the IP to it. I would suggest picking up a broadband NAT router. They aren't very expensive and you will be able to connect the PS3 and multiple computers to the Internet at the same time.
Simply go into your date / time settings and re-sync your clock via internet. I have no clue why this works. I've had to use this fix 3 times over the past 4 months and Neflix ALWAYS works after
